A long car ride is a great time to practice Spanish! This game many people know. It is when you look for things that begin with letters of the alphabet. In Spanish it goes like this:
Person 1 says: Veo, veo algo. (I see something.)
Others say: ¿Qué ves? (What do you see?)
Person 1 says: Veo una cosa. (I see a thing.)
Others say: ¿Qué cosa es? (What thing is it?)
Person 1 says: Es una cosa con la letra "__". (It is a thing that begins with the letter "___".) Fill in blank with a Spanish letter.
You can modify the game if you don't see things that are words you know. Do this:
Person 1 says: Pienso en algo. (I'm thinking of something.)
Others say: ¿En qué piensas? (What are you thinking of?)
Person 1 says: Pienso en algo con la letra "___". (I am thinking of something that begins with the letter "___".) Fill in blank with the Spanish letter that begins the word.
veo = beh-oh una = oo-nah ves = behs
algo = ahl-go cosa = koh-sah
qué = keh pienso = pea-en-soh
con = cone piensas = pea-en-sahs
letra = leh-trah empieza - em-pea-eh-sah
Give the game a try, and bring along your Spanish for You! book if you need vocabulary ideas. It is a great way to review and to encourage listening and speaking.
